The problem
Social apps generate contacts that stay on the screen. People who move to a new city, live away from home, or want to expand their circle, struggle to turn those contacts into real-life meetings.
We build Barside: the platform that turns social discovery into real-life meetings, in venues and city spaces.

Geolocation, discovery, interest profiling, and recommendation algorithms that suggest to people and groups the physical venues best matching their interests and availability.
Prototyping, usability testing and analysis of how the platform is used are the company's continuous activity, in line with the R&D program filed with the Italian Business Register.

The idea for Barside was born during his work travel: the evening need to unwind over a drink kept clashing with the difficulty of going out alone in an unfamiliar city. Hence the company's mission: putting real-life socialising back at the centre, by enabling anyone — people travelling for work, those who have just relocated, or simply those of a more reserved disposition — to reach a venue confident of finding there people already met in their digital form. Digital is the springboard that breaks the ice; the encounter stays offline.
